I am sure that the reason that Microsoft want's to shut down your site is because you provide free help for people that are having problems with NT. As you probably know, significant income is derived from "certifying" MS engineers, and you are cutting into their profit margin.
My suggestion would be to start actively discouraging the use of NT and switch to Novell's Intranetware, which is more stable and faster anyway.
If everybody did this, maybe MS would actually listen for a change!

While not a Windows user, I have to say I am sorry that mircosoftt has brought these threats of litigation against you, especially since you provide support for their products. Little by little, users computing rights are being limited and reduced by a company that claims to protect those same rights. I suggest that one day there should be a demonstration like that which occurred during the Communications Decency Act in which all web sites created a black background. Perhaps each and every site with the MSIE logo could be removed for a day or week in protest.
Please don't be another victim, stand up for your rights. Names substituted to reduce confusion with the real evil empire!

Rob- I read the CNet article right after we spoke today -- that's horrible!! And you of all people!! I just can't believe that they'd stoop so low (actually I can, but...). Don't worry about it... I'm sure everything will turn up ok.... Talk to you later!

Stand tough against microscrap. Don't let them push you around!
I have been to windows.net a few times to help me out and I belive that it's a valuable service that microscrap won't (or can't) provide.
P.S. I didn't use their real name because I don't want to get sued either!

Hi. Your internet service is great!! I used to use TAP. My connection speed is so fast. I have a 33.6 modem, and on TAP I got a 28.8 - 30.0 bps connection. Now I get a 33.6! Thank you so much. I have not gotten a busy signal yet either.

Robert,
You have always done a good job on your web site and have taught me well. I would not know half of what I know if it wasn't for you. Thanks
By the way if anyone needs a good job database website go to http://www.computerjobs.com, had to do a littel advertising!!! Sorry Robert!! :)))

Just signed on today! I was hoping to get a 33.6 connect but was saddened to see 28.8. I got that out of a local access (Franklin) CompuServe connection. Any hints as to what to do to get 33.6 from your site or are you running a 28.8 at the dial-up number 300-4966?
Cheryl (10/12/97 208.148.113.8)
Oh yes... the site looks great!! You guys have done an outstanding job. Keep up the good work. Love the search engine! The TV Listings are really nice!

This is not much of a comment regarding Garden. I am sure we are all very satisfied with the competent staff and friendly manner of each person. My concern is a problem I am having with my Hayes Accura 56K modem. I cannot seem to connect above 24K dialing into Newton. Yes...I have applied the latest 1.0 flash upgrade and have followed the instructions from the Garden web pages to the T. However I cannot get this connection to hum. I am calling from Sparta. Was wondering if any other people from Sparta have an Accura modem and what there experiences are. I do not just want to throw 170 bucks down the drain. Would appreciate any comments/suggestions. (Yes...I did speak to Robert and he is perplexed!)

Hello!
Just got connected. The setup went very smoooooth!. Actually, a bit scary, I kept waiting for something to go wrong! It's refreshing, that after months of computer problems (not my fault) this was easy and painless. No tech phone calls needed. Your instructions were on the money. My hat's off to you, Newton Garden and thanks to Heather for her courteous service.

Hi Rob. I happened upon the design changes you've made by, once again, forgetting to add the "www" in front of the client's name. Oops. Just wanted to let you know that the site looks great. Big improvement in both design and ease of use. The information is nicely presented and less intimidating to the user. It's nice to see the changes. Keep up the good work!

To Robert's credit, he got back to me soon after I posted my comment here. Just remember that an email address used for quotes is people's first experience with an ISP's responsiveness -- I'd hate to miss out on a good ISP because I thought they were careless about answering email, when in fact it was just a simple mixup. Thanks for getting back to me. --Bret

I was hoping Garden Networks would be more responsive to email than my previous ISP. I sent mail requesting a quote for the service I am interested in, first on 8/4, then again on 8/12 -- and I have never received any response! I hope there is some mix up, because from the comments on this page Garden customers seem to be very satisfied with their service.

Ask me (07/17/97 207.3.175.44)
I use to have America Online. After useing it for two months a problem occurred such as getting a $280.00 phone bill because the local access numbers were not loacal!! I am VERY surprised that my parents did not blame this on me. I hate their mail thing because they let you attach one file at a time. They also have this annoying voice saying that you have mail and welcoming you. Their prices are VERY high and whenever you buy something they get your credit card numbers. Ok now about Garden Networks, it is very good for me because they are located in Newton because when something goes wrong (something goes wrong with my computer every week) I can just call them in Newton instead of dialing some 800 number, lisening to some recording for about a hour and pressing nime, zero, five, and stuff like that. When I call Garden Networks I can talk to a representative right away. I have to go to bed now. Its like 11:00p.m.

Kudos again to your staff!
I was suddenly unable to log onto Garden Networks or any other site for
that matter. I spoke with Heather, I believe, yesterday afternoon who got
me back on line in just a few minutes!

By far the most consistent ISP in New Jersey, in terms of connect times, support, upgrades and service. I concurrently use 4 different dial up services and always get the most consistent response from Garden.

Robert: Thanks for your support system and the help I got from Heather. If it weren't for her I would be sitting at the keyboard with bloody fingers and bloodshot eyes in the morning. Within minutes she had me on my way to recovery.
